Hi, I’m Mikkel Kimergård. I live in Denmark and I’ve been 3D printing for about a year on my own Prusa Core One+, which I built myself from the kit. I print everything from tools and shelves to things that are just for fun.
Why I made this site
I made chooseyour3dprinter so people don’t end up with the wrong printer and waste their money. There are a lot of good 3D printers, but the right one depends on what you want to print, how much you want to spend and how hands-on you want to be. A printer that is perfect for one person can be a bad buy for the next.
What you will find here
- A printer finder that points you to the right kind of printer in three questions.
- Best picks for the most common needs.
- Comparisons of the printers people most often choose between.
- Guides that answer the questions you have before and after you buy.
How I make recommendations
I base my advice on the manufacturers’ own specifications, public information and my own experience. I am open about which is which: when a guide builds on my own use, I say so. Right now that means the Prusa Core One+, which is the printer I use myself. Other guides are based on specifications and research, and they are marked that way.
I own a Prusa, but this is not a Prusa site. I cover every major brand, and no manufacturer pays for a place on my lists.
How the site makes money
Some “Check price” links are affiliate links. If you buy a printer through one of them, I may earn a small commission from the store. It costs you nothing extra, and it never decides which printer I recommend. If the best choice for you is a printer I earn nothing on, that is the one I will recommend.

Frequently asked questions
Do you test the printers yourself?
I don’t run lab tests. I have printed on my own Prusa Core One+, which I built from the kit, for about a year, and I say so when a guide uses that experience. The rest of each guide is based on manufacturer specifications and documentation, plus what owners report in forums and reviews.
