The P2S is the successor to the P1S, Bambu Lab’s popular enclosed printer. Both are still sold, and the P1S is now the cheaper of the two. So the real question is whether the P2S upgrades are worth paying for.

Specs and prices are from Bambu Lab’s official pages and EU store, checked in October 2026. Store links may earn me a commission.

The short answer

  • Choose the P2S if you want to print carbon-fiber or glass-fiber filaments, want a much better camera and touchscreen, or simply want the newer platform.
  • Choose the P1S if you mostly print PLA, PETG, ABS and ASA and want the lower price. It is still a very capable enclosed printer.

What the P2S improves

  • Hardened nozzle and gears. Carbon-fiber and glass-fiber filaments wear out a normal nozzle quickly. The P2S is ready for them from day one.
  • A real camera. The P1S camera takes a picture every two seconds. The P2S streams smooth 1080p video, which makes remote monitoring and time-lapses far better.
  • A big touchscreen. The P2S has a 5-inch touchscreen, which makes it easier to use without your phone.
  • A little faster and hotter. Higher top speed, more flow and a 110 °C bed, which helps with some engineering materials.

Where the P1S still makes sense

The P1S has the same build volume, the same enclosure and the same carbon filter. For everyday PLA and PETG, and for ABS and ASA, the results will be very similar. At the time of writing, the P1S costs about €140 less than the P2S in Bambu Lab’s EU store, which can go a long way in filament.

Verdict

If you are buying new and the price gap is small, get the P2S. It is the better long-term platform, especially for fiber-filled filaments. If the P1S is on sale and you will mostly print standard materials, it is still a good buy.
